Well just about a week away from this outing, thought I would put up a post to where the proposed meeting place is and to where the pits are, should anyone want to go straight there. PLEASE REMEMBER WE HAVE NOT BOOKED A LAKE because we cant, you turn up, take your chances on what peg/lake/river, and plonk, remember there will be other anglers there too. The meeting point is the A1 Blyth Services, see HERE at 6:00am, to depart en route at 6:15am Should anyone wish to come later or go straight there, then here is the LINKIf you want mixed species with a leaning towards carp then Pit 3, if you want Bream, then go for pit 4, and if you want Big Carp, go to Pit 5 or 6. Prices for Fishing: (pay the bailiff who drives round) Prices for all lakes and the River Trent, £5 for 12 Hours £10 for 24 Hours £55 per Week This covers you for up to 4 rods (with 2 licenses of course) Looking forward to it Si

looks like whoevers goind to the pits and fishing lake 4 is in for a treat and i mean a treat
the water is pure black with bream you can see there dorsal fins and top of tail on the surface and we were talking to the balif and he said the biggest that had been pulled out this year was 12lb 11oz
everyone who was fishing had atleast a two rod carp setup but instead of using carp end tackle they was using a feeder tactic

Just had an phone call from a mate in Kings Lynn, he fished No4 on Saturday and had fish through-out most of the day, most around 4 lb - 8lb on sweetcorn & Tigernut boilies, over sweetened breadcrumb groundbait.

Hi guys i was down here yesterday looking around on the trent as was planning on fishing it next sunday and came across south muskham fisheries (which iv now gathered is also known as A1 pits) looks nice and lookin on the website and reading the forum sounds pretty damn good too so fancy givng it a go however there is no info on what species are where etc on the website. i want to be catching tench and bream iv gathered that pit 4 is best for bream but i havnt heard any mention of the old tinca is there any about? I was having a quick sarny while watching a guy fish pit 2 and he was pullin out carp of about 8-9lb off the surface howvere i couldnt fail to notice what looked suspiciously like lots of tench bubbles in the margins would i be right or am i totally off the ball? Im not really into heave it and leave it tactics so any good advice would be great ta lads cos i dont really wanna be travelling from huddersfield all the way down there without having no idea of how to go on. Thanks, Nick.

Anyone around Southern Huddersfield late last night may have noticed a sudden drop in the temperature to around - 200 degrees C. They may have also heard ""oh no you are NOT!" in a feminine, but icy growl. Followed with " you and I are going to Mark's birthday party ". I have to admit to completely missing the significance of the date on the calendar, and all the preparations, in a totally self centered load of preparations of my own. It only came to light, when Her Indoors and I started to do a shopping list for today, and I trotted out my needs for the overnighter. There was a sharp intake of breath, followed by a reasonably small emotional explosion, considering the feeling behind the words. After all we have only been with them helping them move into their new house all weekend / week. So I am sorry lads, but no BOF this time. BOF
