What with the weather warming up its got me dreaming of overnighters ;D Lets see if we can get a date up for all those interested in an overnighter on the pits again, those who werent on the forum last year have read at last years giddyness here LAST THREADHad some good nights back end of last summer, I think this year I fancy it a little earlier as it does get over fished. If you dont have transport (but are an adult) dont be scared to shout up, im sure others will volunteer A show of interest then perhaps we can book pit4 for the night. Sometime early July? Si

Fishing from Friday morning the 14th, through till Saturday sounds like a plan. There seems to be plenty of interest, ill contact them and see if I can sweet talk into a lake booking and will post details. Just want to point out, incase it puts a few off, a carp setup is not needed guys, the best method seems to be typical bream fishing with the quiver, a main line of 8lb and a bottom of 4/5 should see you land your fish. Of course you can put a sleeper rod out there with an alarm etc too. The only extra thing you would need to normal coarse gear is a headtorch.

Put me down for it if those dates are definite. Si. By the way I agree, if the weather is owt like, you wont need all the bells and whistles for just an overnighter. You just need your usual tackle, snap etc., plus something comfy to sit on, ie a chair that has some padding, and can be levelled up, rather than a box. Also a brolly big enough to cover you, (and all your gear), adequately, and something to make a brew / breakfast on. Note no bed chair, bivvy, carp tables, TV's, what have you. I do take an old blanket to throw over my legs, in case of a heavy dew in the early morning, and use my rucksack as a foot stool, to rest my legs. This lot should be comfy enough to grab a snooze, before setting off back. Dont, please drive back without some kip, it isnt macho, just dumb. BOF

Unfortunately I only return from Ireland on the Thursday evening and I think it would be pushing the luck a little bit to tell the wife I was doing an overnighter the day after (she already thinks I like fishing more than her and the kids : . GUTTED because these are great Maybe next time though

Just got off the phone with the bailif, he just wont entertain the idea of a booking. its just not worth it to him, as he put it. So its as simple as this really July the 14th get there early as possible, I will be on Pit 4 for the bream, pits 5 and 6 are proper carpy carp lakes. Its £5 for 12hrs, and £10 for 24hrs and you pay the bailif in the landrover they have a site now by the looks of things www.a1pits.netShame we cant book Si

I think if I'm to go I'll need to car share with someone as I think it's a little far for me to trick the missus into driving to.

Not sure. I have done quite a few night sessions on Pit 4 and have had a lot of fish to 8lb12oz which have looked similiar in size to the claimed 12lb 5oz. Despite all the rumours of doubles, particularly from the bailiff, I have not actually witnessed a double figure fish from there. That, however, is not to sat they arent present in the water.

Too true. I was at the pits when Lee was pulling these out every half hour. The pics don't do justice and its worth noting Lee is holding the fish close to his body as against sticking it out towards the camera for maximum effect > All these pics are giving me itchy feet to go back down there and prove that doubles do inhabit the place.
