I don't know if there are any around Bridlington but you can certainly use 'coarse tackle' to catch them. They are fantastic fighters so I'd suggest a minimum of 6lb b.s line and a through actioned rod (Avon type).
Good luck!
Dave

You get the odd one or two on the south side of bridlington. A friend of mine gets them in his nets. Keep in the back of your mind though, mullet can be hard work to locate and catch, hence why i'm yet to catch one and i put some hours in in the winter ;D like an icicled idiot . Dave 59 is right about the tackle if you can see the fish and they're at your feet, however you'd have to fish around 40 yds plus with a minimum of a 4 oz lead so i'd advise your standard tactics but fine down your rigs a little because they will suss them out. Natural baits like lugworm are good for them, anything will catch em' to be honest. it's just being in the right place at the right time. Dan

if there in the harbour ,groundbait will help get them feeding where you want to fish. if you can ,get some crab bodies from the stalls that sell crabs and crab meat, probably one of the best attractors going, just smash the shells to bits, bit of breadcrumb to bind, use almost anything for bait ,but soft.very important that bit, take the skin off a bit of mackerel and use the flesh.bit of bread, etc. and keep dripping the g/bait in. hard to tell you where to fish, you need a bit of tide to take the trail out, but not too much, otherwise you can't get them shoaling up.
if they are too far out ,and its not too deep. the lads over here are now using method feeders, but at night and very close in. no lamps and keep quiet. as per the other posts. nowt much like a mullet, good chub, that thinks its a barbel, or a perch. very good fun
ps, if you are in the harbour, coalies love g/bait ,so you shouldn't blank ,

Are there any mullet to be caught around Bridlington, and can i use my coarse tackle to catch them thanks, Ryan You might get one in a good year on the east coast but if you are desperate for Mullet then in order ... South Coast .. West Coast. Your chances of a Mullet off Brid at this time of year are about the same as carp fanatics calder barbel - possible - but, if I were you, go for the Chub / Roach/ Pike/ Trout/ Grayling/ Bream / Gudgeon / Dace /Minnow... Horses for courses.

Sorry Ryan, i didn;t realise you meant at this time of year. I would be surprised to see them in there now, as some as said, they are in the humber, the salmon/seatrout netters, get them in the summer, there and up the coast. but winter mullet are something else. Isle of Whitorn on the west coast or Alderney. only 2 places i would bet your coat on .
