Spending a week at Bellinhgham, Northumberland next week, i would welcome any advice on fisheries and venues in the area, river preferably but dont mind smallish ponds.

This is going back into my 20's, ( ), but the Bellingham Club used to have 3 or 4 miles of the North Tyne, (a fast shallow river, mostly hard bottom with the odd gravel patch). Great Dace fishing, and nice Trout, (virtually nothing else in this area other than game fishing), but this is going way back as I've said. However I dont think a lot will have changed, other than improved runs of Sea Trout and Salmon, since the lower rivers clean up in the 80's / 90's. Don't know about any stillwater fishing, sorry. BOF

Bit bigger than a smallish pond but I think Derwent reservoir has some coarse fishing, mainly Roach and Perch, one of the other reservoirs up that way does as well but I cant think of the name, possibly Hury???
