Please can anyone help? I'm planning to fish somewhere on the East coast this week- Whitby, Scarborough, Brid' area. I plan to fish four hours pre high tide and maybe an hour after if there are mackerel around. My question is where's fishing well right now and what tactics, bait etc will i require and what fish can we hope to catch? I have carp rods and reels with 12lb mono (which will get a good lashing with the hose pipe when i get back), I plan to get a bit of gear from my tackle shop this week, weights, hooks etc, what do you suggest is best?, and maybe pick some bait up when we get to where we're going. I realy fancy Whitby buy i've never fished there before from the pier so not sure of the best approach! any advice will be most welcome!! Thank you!!

If you go to whitby mate you'll have to fish on the bottom deck of the pier, its banned on the top during summer, the tackle you have is ok for mackerel, i'd recomend feathers or the little silver fish shaped lures
