i am off on holiday up here in the summer and will be fishing the pond that is on the site we are staying on and i am just wondering if anyone knows of any other fisheries in the area that are worth a try? prefferably a place that is not to difficult cause my family will prbably come along aswell? also does anyone know what the sea fishing is like here? i know that it is one of the best shark fishing places in britain . but does anyone know if it is possible to fish off the shore? if so would coarse takckle be suitable to use with bread on the hook? i might sound a plonker cause i have never been sea fishing before in my life and dont know much about it it anyway any help would be much appreciated. cheers

POTTS we were in looe a couple of years ago, in the evening tide (running in)you can fish the quayside by the fish sheds. you can have some great sport on freshwater gear (thats all i had) with pollack, bass, and mullet.use a slither of mackeral strip youll need a running lead rig about an ounce weight, size ten hook you can also fish for about an hour as the tide turns and starts running out. have fun grahame

You could get a sea fishing float and do a bit of float fishing, use a bit of ragworm for bait. ;D

potts its an inlet river by the fish sheds cast in the middle about 20- 30feet not far grahame Potts, this bit is called East looe, other side is West looe. not far, 5 min walk around and across the bridge if you are staying on the other side. watch for the seal, lives by the fish shed if you are interested ,there is a good fish auction down there daily, starts at 6am though!! try spinning for pollack, carp rod set up. small bullet or barrel weight, 3ft trace size 1/2 aberdeen, and a small delta or small storm sandeel. and not too tight a drag ;D another possibilty is, up the river, there are some mud flats, which should have mullet and flounders on them, same set up, but a smaller hook, 6/8 aberdeen, try get some small ragworm[maddies] from the shop [used to be just up from the fish sheds] single worm, thread it up the line 1/3 ,cast around, and feel the lead down for the gullies ,twitch the bait back. good luck jsyman
