My lad has a practice match near the Asda ?!?!? I don't know the area or even whats in the canal.

if i was him i would go for gudgen /perch /roach and chub all on maggot size 18 or 22 hook about 2ft to 3ft deep far bank on float he might be lucky and catch chub all ways look for any over hanging banks or branchs chub love to hide in then he will have no trouble in catching the other fish but do not chuck hand fulls of bait in feed little and often all so get him some worms as well perch love them and chub do on there hope it all helps mate let me know how he goes on
