Hi All....
I'm working in London for 2 weeks in September...I will mostly have evenings free and wondered if its worth packing my travel rod in the suitcase?
Anyone know of any small ponds where I can sepnd an hour or two. I will be based around Earls Court / Kensington. I don't fancy the Thames.
Ideally the water needs to be within walking distance of a tube station....doesn't really matter where as the tube is fast.
The only waters that have come up on google is Pen Ponds in Richmond Park....looks a bit pants
cheers

I look after the lighting for a gig down there that we do every year...normally out on the ale every night but quite fancied dropping a float in somewhere...everywhere within 80 miles is highly urbanised anyway....
cheers

You don't fancy the Thames? Why ever not? There's Big Carp, Barbel, Bream, etc etc. Mind there used to be loads of Bleak as well, making life for the maggot angler a bit hard. But that was years ago. Things may have improved. BOF

To be honest BOF.... I will literally only have room for my travel rod a small reel and a couple of floats...of course I would love to spend a day on the Thames on the feeder but no can do with this trip. I should imagine around the marina's and jetty's will make good hunting spots for large perch though...
You may have a point BOF...I'll look into it ;D ;D

I hav'nt lived in london for 12 years, but the thames is your best bet down towards richmond, access by public transport. Keep away from the commons mate, to many horror stories from them places, or if you have a full day kent loads of fisheries down there. no tube, but plenty of main line trains, dartford in kent has some cracking lakes. bas...........................

My mate had a gig in woolwwich and had a hunt round for the same sort of thing. No joy though. He says it needs to be close on a job because he hasnt always got the time to drive around.
