Hey All, Does anyone know who controls this canal at Drakeholes. Fished it many, many times some years ago but never seen a Bailiff and so don't know who controls it. Regards Craig

Ayup m8,
Still not managed to get back down here, never fished the in the village itself. You know if either location are OK for a spot of Winter fishing?

if i was you i would go into the village its self when yu get to a turn on the right hand side turn there then follow the road around the corner becarefull it is a very sharp left hand turn then there is a sharp blind right hand turn you park yur car just after that on the left fish either side of the bridge about 3ft to 4ft deep size 18 hook single or double red maggot plenty of roach perch gugden and if yu are lucky chub they will be on the right hand side of the brigde on the far bank wat i do i walk down the road looking for the chub yu will see wat i mean basicaly it is far better here than next to the pub no boats more up there the balif is areal good bloke he will help you out if your not sure and another good place is clayworth basin ask balif he will put yu right

This has stirred up some memories! Used to fish Drakeholes a fair bit some twenty five years ago. In those days we fished sweetcorn or bread to try and avoid the eels, which were very abundant just down from the tunnel (Some good fish used to be caught north of the tunnel, especially roach). Always used to call into Goachers at North Wheatley, where Graham always had some of the best fruit available for miles, if they are still there they're worth a visit in season . Rob
