Need some help, because I cant seem to get passed all the junk websites, when ever I do a search Me Dad has got me on the case looking for a Campsite/Chalet park to buy a chalet or static caravan. There are a few criteria to his search, 1) close to a river (some small input from me) 2) pref with a lake on it for mixed species fishing 3) woodland not costal 4) pub close by for drunken stooper walks home 5) about 1hr to 1.5hrs from the Doncaster area. 6) not too overcrowded. 7) open 11.5months of the year, not March to October Ideally lincoln way but open to suggestion a website would be great if poss. Thanks in advance Si

www.donamottparks.com/lakeside_park.htmlThis is a fabulous park wish our lass would let me buy a van here, going on the 30th for a long weekend, not sure if they open for 11.5 months though? something to do with council tax? you are well away from the coast, surrounded by trees, with lots of venues near by,

Try Thirkleby Hall Caravan Park outside Thirsk, on the A19 towards York. Club house and Bar, on site. Carp and silver fish lake, on site. Swale within 10 minutes drive, Cod Beck just in Thirsk, Ure under 20 minutes. Oaks complex at Sessay, 5 minutes. Raskelf Lake 10 minutes, (good pub grub in this village). Shopping, Takeaways, Supermarkets and Cinema in Thirsk. The only drawback may be the dates the site is open. I think its only a 10 month site. BOF

Si, Try Burton Constable near Hull, chalets and statics and meets every one of your requirements.
There is also a new site i have just got the brocher for on the Beverley to Leven road that is superb. It will have a bowling green, small pitch and put golf course. I will let you have the details when i get home.

Isn't there some big pike in there as well, I'm sure its the same place I used camp at. We used to camp at the top of the lake on a farmers land and we saw some big pike hanging in a out house.
