going in august for the first time what are the best ponds for pole fishing and is it the usual biats pellets meat corn any info much appreciated Only two lakes are specimen which you can't fish with the pole,Pat's Pool and Nelsons ( well half of nelsons )as the other half is match. The rest are suitable for the pole,Jenny's lake is popular and i saw some good fish come out and the bait's do seem to be the usual pellet ect. When you get on the site pop into the tackle shop as that is where you collect your permit and ask the staff inside as they will be happy to give you all the latest info on catches, bait ect. Check out the link www.news-reel.com/ as it gives a lot of info! ;D Sorry i can't be more helpful but i only fished the specimen lakes! Regards Carpy

Poleman, you'll catch on almost anything....meat, corn, pellet etc... All the ponds are very well stocked...Trewlawny is great for carp on the pole....make sure your gear is up to it....and fish under your platform and hang on...had getting on for a ton of carp fishing six inches out on 8mm pellet. so ofast shipping out is needed All the ponds suit pole fishing really...python is a canal style lake full o tench and brown goldfish and the odd carp...had some great bags on there. I think the place will keep you busy....the chaps in the tackle shop are great for advice....lot of matches too on dedicated ponds if you fancy it PM me if you have any other questions however the website has loads of info...wish i was going this year one word of advice...steer clear of the kids dinosaur slide...its lethal after a few shandies....ask Paul C ;D ;D ;D Trev

For those in the know - what's it like for families with Wives and young children who don't fish? njc. p.s, Yes I may be formulating a cunning plan..... I took the family ( or should that be the other way round ) and found it to be quite good as it has arcades, plenty of play areas (outside),mini bowling, swimming pool, sauna, indoor adventure play area for little ones and more! I'm the only one that fishes and even the wife wants to go back again so that say's it all mate!!! ;D Regards Carpy ;D ;D ;D

Nige, It spot on for families. Make sure you get a cabin on Jennys that way you never really leave your family to go fishing (there right behind you), We have been for the last 4 years only having this year off to move house, will be going next year. A short car ride will get you to the beach or countless small adventure parks all suitably sized to fill half a day leaving the rest for fishing time The facilities on site are rubbish (food wise) but there are plenty of decent pubs for a decent meal.(Quintrell Inn with kids play area about a mile down road). PS: Book very early for the cabins, the only down side is getting there
