www.oasislakes.co.uk/Had a walk round this place on Saturday fished it once last year, now under new ownership, very impressed with the couple who have bought it and are in the process of renewing the tackle shop and generally tidying the place up (not that I could see anything wrong with it) I am going there again later in the summer ,will post how I get on .Phill.

I fished a couple of 3 hour friendly matches on saturday on Island Lake- plenty of fish- F1s, tench. 29lb won first match and 14lb the second in the afternoon. No it wasn't me, I fished my usual and lost 4x more than I landed including a big ghostie. Island is reckoned to have plenty of F1s average 2-3lb and odd biggies but they actually seemed to average about 12oz-1lb with the biggest fish landed at just under 8lb. Average depth about 4-5 feet where I was but there are some shallower pegs with lillies and features galore. Smashing lake though, my swim was fizzing all the time. Couldn't agree more about the new owners, they fed and watered us all day and weighed in for us. The other lake near the road also looked fishy. Certainly worth another visit.

Returned to this place last weekend, fabulas time was had by all, ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D apart from the england match spent the weekend in a freinds caravan, got up early on Sat, fished the roadside lake, near the top end ,quite deep up there about 10ft,first chuck caught a lovely common, about 2lbs,caught well all morning, with a good selection of fish coming out to pellet and sweetcorn, between the three of us we must have had 100lb's of fish out and one of my mates is a once a year man who we were showing, how to fish a pole for the first time, packed up just after lunch to watch the match, Went back Sunday morning and bagged up mainly just below the surface with pellet and corn againapart from the match result a great weekend. my mates better at posing than he is taking photo's
