:owhat a superb day!!!! Harles thorpe dam is about 5 minutes drive off of junction 30 of the M1. It has carp to twentys, Tench to 8lb, roach to 2lb, perch to 3lb, pike to doubles, crucian carp to 2lb, bream to 8lb. I set up one specimen rod at about 70 yards to the back of some reeds which we had baited up. Managed 4 runs on that and caught three at 7lb 4oz, 9lb 6oz an 12lb 1 oz(see below) I also set my pole up at about 11 metres only 2 foot deep and caught on double maggot all day. i must have had 30 roach up to about a pound, 10 perch up to two pound, 20 skimmers up to 2 pound and bream bream to 3 pound along with a nice crucian about the pound mark i also got broke a couple of times to what we think were tench. My mate had three specimen rods out all to the back of the same reeds and managed 8 runs but only netted four at 9lb 2oz, 10lb 0oz, 12lb 8oz and 15lb 6oz (see below) We had an absolute craking day and even the baliff and a couple of matchmen who were practising three pegs down from us for a match next week said they've never seen any one with there rods in the air pulling carp out as much and pulling fish out on the pole as much as we did yesterday..... i think the 4am pre baiting helped us a lot i reccomend this venue to anyone and even has another small pond adjacent to it apparently packed with stockie carp, big tench and big roach. cheers, Dale
