On here myself this weekend, pegs 51 to 65. Rules, No cat / Dog meat, have to use his pellets, no baggin waggler and his guys weigh you in. Thats about it really. The place can only be fished on matches but it has a good reputation, its a big lake with plenty of features, sunken trees and the like. I was pegged in the open last year, fished a feeder and had a grear day, nothing big but plenty of bites on caster and worm.

Boiling hot day, carp cruising all over near the islands and i get pegged on 59, in the open water with no features. Lots of carp lost in the lillies by people, if there was a snag they found it. I had a enjoyable day catching skimmers on the waggler on meat and caster. 30 odd pound won it on both matches fished on here, i ended up with16 lb.

Yeh, i really enjoyed myself. Decided to treat it as a fun session, did not bother about winning the match as the draw put the mockers on that. Rather than get stressed trying to fight a lost cause i set up just a float rod and had bites all match long. It was great, reminded me as to why i don't take matches serious and felt really relaxed at the end. Instead of the usual inquest after wards as to the lack of bites, fish and draw i was just in that mellow contented state that we all to frequently forget about. So its bye bye pole for the rest of the season and stick to a float or feeder.
