Hi all. I have never fished a match before but am in september at bills which is a friendly work affair. I have pleasure fished other lakes at aston but never butts or bills and just wondering if anyone can pass on any advice if they have fished bills? I am just going to enjoy the experience but if i could not come last that would be good lol. If anyone could let me know net size limit that would be appreciated as have bought just two nets at present (silver and carp net)

Net limit is 50lb per net. I've only fished Bill's once and Butts a few times which is similar.I think there are more small chub in Bills. I'd concentrate on fishing right over the far side with worm or pellet for the carp and also down the middle- start on the deck with pellet fished over a few micros on one line and maggots or caster on another. Keep feeding maggots or caster down the middle and as match progresses try fishing shallow with banded maggot or caster for the chub and ide. I'm not sure how the margins fish on Bill's but its also worth setting a margin rig up and trying pellet, corn or dead maggots. Hope it's some help and good luck! Rich

Hi rich thank you very much for your reply it was much appreciated and i will heed your advice. Hopefully i will get the opportunity to have a practice there prior to September but with young kids i dont always get opportunity so if not this at least gives me a starting point to consider. Looking forward to the match and sure i will learn loads from the day
