Are there any ? Was down there a few months ago and went to get a ticket , the iron mongers who sold a bit of tackle and day tickets had gone , the place down on the industrial estate where I went within the last year or two seemed closed too . There was a new one just opened , North St I think ? It was supposed to be open , but was shut when I called .

Was there a month or two ago and there was a new one which had just opened I was told . it was just round the corner from the "SO Bar" and on the opposite side of the street to the old tackle shop. It looked to be in business but was closed , it was supposed to be open according to the times in the window .

yeah, the one I saw seemed to be more set up for selling fly fishing gear. If the one in Thirsk is the one down by the car park beside Cod beck , it has been closed any time I've tried it ,but it's about a year or more since i last went there.

Yep just to add to the gloom there are now no tackle shops in Harrogate knarnesboro or boroughbridge I'm afraid it's a sign of the times you could say it's online shops that has done this but I don't think the demand is there anymore for the small local shops in rural areas

Another thumbs up for Willyworms. Had maggots from them a few times and apart from one instance ,all bait fine. when you consider where its coming to, that's not bad.
However, everytime I go back to see family . its the shop in Otley, good bait and always made welcome.

It's been on the go a long time willyworms as well. Often had worms from them , they seem to be selling tackle now , which will be handy I suppose seeing as mail order will be the only way we can buy anything before long . As for day tickets etc , the local pub used to be the go to place in out of the way venues at one time , but they are closing as fast as tackle shops in some areas .
Yes I did notice fish n things in Boroughbridge is gone as well last time I was down and is now a hair dressers or something . Ripon Piscatorials website seems to be down any time I've looked recently , or no longer exists ?
