Elmhirst Lakes Horncastle

Had a few days break at Elmhirst Lakes Horncastle last week weather not great but really enjoyed it had 4 sessions of no more than 4 hours must have had 35 Carp from about 8 lbs up to 1 which was around 20 lb+ easily they go up to low 30's so I am told,this is a holiday park with the fishing thrown in however the bad news is it's adults only and no all male party's the majority of caravans are privately owned predominately by pensioners with just about 8 for rent,the no children rule I think is because the water is very deep and the banks (however well kept) are more on the natural type of thing,so safety is the main concern,very peaceful setting and very friendly campers as well.will definitely be back.oh + 3 perch that were around 2 lb each and a Roach that transformed itself into a pike while underwater.

As I promised myself had another week at Elmhirst Farm Horncastle and once again it did not disappoint had around 20 carp up to just over 20 lbs but the main source of enjoyment was the fabulous Roach never seen so many roach around the one and a half lb mark with a couple comfortably over 2 lbs photo's don't always do justice to the fish but my landing net is just under 18 " wide 2 ft long which gives some idea of the size of the fish must have had over 100 Roach in one sitting few below 12 oz outstanding shoals of fish!
