was in aj tackle shop at middleton leeds yesterday and a couple of young anglers were in front of me at the counter and only had enough money for 1/2 pint of maggots.one of them was looking at the waggler floats in the display cabinet.i asked the lad if he liked any and he pointed one out and i asked andy the owner to give him it and put a pint of maggots in their maggot bag.i told the lads to keep their money and have a good day on miggy pond (which was where they were heading).thankyou mister was their reply and made all the worthwhile.i remember a time i was coppering up for maggots etc.after all these young men are the future of our sport.

Good one, mate.
Reminds me of the time nearly 65 years ago, I went from Thornton, Bradford, to Addingham to fish for trout and grayling, Caught nowt and missed the last bus home. As I was walking along the road, bloke pulled up and gave me a lift to the nearest taxi rank and paid the driver to take me to Thornton. I was 11 years old. Mum put a big notice in the Telegraph and Argus to thank the bloke.
