I've already posted about photobucket in the photo section.
But I've just replied to bobs post in the photo section and it's then taken me to a photobucket sign up and pay page... What made me suss that it may be a scam page was that it said I wasn't signed into proboards... Which I clearly was by just replying to a topic
Be wary guys n gals

its not a scam as such, Photobucket has removed the permission to hotlink , another words you cannot upload a image to the photobucket account then link it to show else where unless you have a paid account with them, hence why last week we lost loads of images that were hosted on PB, the ones i now about i have had to move to another service which does allow. there will still be loads on the forum that are missing or replaced with the stupid photobucket sign asking for payment. best thing is change your image host , then photobucket will disappear when people leave.
if you come across any missing images can you let me know and i will try and replace or remove the image if need be, Thanks

Can anyone recommend an alternative to photobucket? I post lots of photos of my fish plus all the YF Social Match photos, so will need something reliable.

Yes i for one would like another image host, PB has been lousy for a while now with loads of adds slowing it down etc. Not been on there for ages for that reason so didn't know about the pay up bit. daz

i asked on Proboards support for help when the issue came up and from a list i have signed the site up to imgbb.com/seems good so far , easy for uploading and all the links you need are there. i did try a few of the other but imgbb seemed the best for what we needed. but warn you first regarding Photobucket, some of the images we used to use are locked behind their stupid posters asking for the cash, so if you do have pictures with them make sure you have a back up copy .

I've just been trying imgbb hosting site. Very easy to upload photos, easy to share links to YF but doesn't seem very quick to move photos about though, it froze on me a couple of times. No adverts at all though, makes a change from photobucket!
It's saying 16mb storage per user- that doesn't seem that much to me considering my photo size looks to be about 1.6mb. 10 photos and it'll be full.
I'll try again later, my laptop just died on me!

I've now got 17 photos on with no problems. You have to use the "embed" codes to copy the links, not the html ones. thumbnail- gives a small image, full image linked- gives an image on the forum that's about 3/4 of the page width full image - gives an image using the full width of the page
I'm finding it impossible to edit my uploaded photos to add a title and also to move photos into albums.
I'm still really p'd off with photobucket, they've ruined lots of old posts and blogs. I've put too many YF photos on there to go back and upload to the new hoster so will just carry on from now with imgbb.

well i have deleted the PB account which was not easy as the page was covered with adds which i had to remove to click on the delete text, and then close the pop up page which popped up because i clicked to close the add. Phew what a palava. daz

I've been having a play and found that I can post photos on YF from my Flikr photos account. Having a sky/ yahoo account gets you 1Tb of free storage so no problems with limited storage as I expect from imbgg.

Just been reading this thread with interest as also fed up with Photobucket,
Though I just had a look at IMGBB and that seems to have as many adverts
(needs to be a free one)
I saw an older reply about Google Picasa but this is now retired, though downloaded Google Photos but cannot see anyway of sharing an image
What are the majority using to upload pics these days?
Cheers

I have tried Flikr but unless I am uploading to the Facebook format I cant seem to get it to work correctly. Certainly not when I want to load anything on to Proboards. So I switched to Picture Trail which seems to be working:- But I dont know about the restrictions yet, I'm sure they will surface eventually. BOF
