i see the welsh have decided not to have the poppy displayed on their shirts this weekend as they are scared of any any points deduction or financial penalty.they should have done what the england and scotland teams are doing and defied the most corrupt organisation the world of sport has ever seen.we brits should all stand together and wear our display our poppies with pride and to hell with any stupid rules or organisations that say otherwise. rant over. thoughts please steve.

I heard a caller on Radio Sheffield the other day who made a suggestion.
He said "if the english and scots fas want to make a gesture to remember the fallen, then why don't they not wear poppies and donate the money that they would be fined directly to the British Legion? If fact, if they really want to make a gesture then why not donate the Wembley gate receipts to the British Legion?"
That would be a better gesture than wearing armbands don't you think? They could show support on the night in lots of other "acceptable" ways, for example displaying poppies on the electronic advert signs round the pitch, showering the pitch with poppies, giving fans coloured cards to make wembley into a sea of poppies etc.

That's a superb idea pity the game is tonight and not a week away!
