How about Kippax Park( Leeds DASA) ,not fished it but they have a number of lakes and Graham Park one of the Leeds DASA Officials is on the forum so may help us organize a knock up. Not sure how far in advance they are booked up though. looking back at the published open match results it didn't fish too bad over the winter.

Owl barn doesnt fish that well in winter. Well it never did as all hemsworth lads who go on opens fish stubbs all instead. Its hard going. I fished few matches on winter and didnt do great but with the f1s which he put in may be different now

Is spoforth not worth a knock up Steve. Never really fish it so I'm not sure. Like the idea of how close it is. And match lake at braferton wud fit the bill. I know dave would do us a good deal

Don't think sunrise fishes that well in winter to be honest Paul as for brafferton the spring lake and ghostie lake can be hard in winter due to the dominant species being carp don't know about the match lake never fished it I'm not trying to put a damper on things Paul just saying its a long way for some guys to travel for possibly a mediocre day.mushroom ponds and kippax dare I say it probably a better bet.

I'm away till 27th myself so if Booking on thread opens before this , please put me down for Lowfields on Oct 3rd.
Crofton was wondering about Aire and Calder Nav ( Heck or Pollington ) for a knock up ? ONLY ABOUT £3.00 and quite a few of us have books which include this water as a joint holding with other societies.
Cheers.

I agree Aston Park will fish ok through the Winter (they have a bubbler system - no ice !!) Norwood is ok but better Spring to Autumn. As Rich says Lindholme is ok too, so is Mushroom and I wouldn't mind a couple at Owl Barn !! How about the Huddersfield Narrow ? or the Stainey ? The Aire & Calder (if we knobble Rich first)

Is that on mirfield book rich or is it day ticket

From Heck thru Pollington down to Goole is a consortium made up of wakefield, leeds, hull, donny, plus others, so free if youve a book of one of those clubs or £3 day ticket from local shop on advance (more if on bank). Thats where the match was. From Heck back up to Whitley Lock is Mirfield AC, not sure on day tickets but you need a B. Waterways key for parking. Further upstream, Walton AC have lengths from Woodnook lock to Kings Lock then its Mirfield AC up to Stanley Ferry. Pollington seems to be the place to be when it gets colder as the roach shoal up near the boats but its been good fishing on the whole canal in last couple of years- roach and some good bream nets plus occasional big chub. Very deep though, up to 12 feet, which would be good for an autumn or winter match for us.

Thats Walton AC stretch Kel. Mainly roach but some bream shoals and odd big chub. They have both banks, day ticket on bank. Quite overgrown now in parts with Himalayan Balsam.
