I'm just in the process of elasticating my pole
I am wanting to swap elastic to Maver Dual Core.
Can anybody give me any advice on what colour/size to get.
I do fish a lot of commercials but also fish lakes with Silver fish in I'm not sure what strengths to get for my top kits to best cover these.
I have 6 top kits so can get a spread of strengths.
Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks

If you definitely want to go for "Maver Dual Core", then I'd suggest you go for the "Maver Dual Core Retro Competition Elastic". It only comes in THREE Sizes, 5-8(Orange), 6-10(Yellow)and 12-20(Orange/Red)...So the choice is easier.....

I would do the same, i also have six top kits where i have 10 hydro for silver fishing 16/20hydro for carp and bream and also double 8 hydro as a spare. Buy a selection of eladtic which suit ya style of fishing, tight lines.

I used to you latex. But were changeing every other year. It would wear away easy. So decided to have a shop around for a decent elastic and bought a selection of hydro elastics. Tight lines.

I have tried all elastics & have now gone back to hydro I just can't fault it. I only use one other for silvers & F1 fishing that being drennan green hollow. I have 12 top kits here is my breakdown for my fishing.
X 3 with white hydro I use this for my shallow fishing and on the deck on snake lakes fish up to low doubles.
X 3 green Preston hollow for my shallow line when fish are slightly larger & like wise with snake type lakes on the deck.
X 3 black hydro for bagging shallow and margins on snake type lakes.
X 1 red hydro for lumps down the edge.
X 2 green drennan hollow for my silvers F1 ide etc ....on the dec & shallow.
I find using a dacron conector works best but personal preference I'm not a lover of stonfo conector nor crows foot.i also would recommend setting it up so it is slack you want it to retract so it just goes back in the tip of your pole.after a few fish and once it starts to dangle out of your pole then trim off & repeat process when needed. When fishing with hydro one thing I would definitely recommend is a pulla bung as hydro does stretch a long way.hope this helps.again not everyone's cup of tea but works for me.
Sent from my SM-G900F using proboards

I too have tried various elastics over the years, mainly to try and keep costs down, but always end up returning to Hydro. it lasts far longer and is well worth the extra cost. I use pink on canals, white, grey or black on commercials (depending on average size I'm targeting) and red for lumps. I too would recommend using a pulla bung or a "side puller" particularly for the red hydro as otherwise it can stretch far too much to enable you to keep control close in when landing a "big un". If using Daiwa "interlastic" tops I find it works far better if you just put the elastic through one hole like a normal side puller rather than using it as Daiwa intended.
