Just back from a weeks holiday at Westwood Lakes ( Westwood )(no not a bus-mans Holiday)Lakes not Res.and again the high standard of accommodation and service was outstanding, this place has expanded since the last time I visited 4 years ago with 4 extra lakes being added though yet to mature to the standard that the rest of the lakes have reached the food in the cafe was excellent the tackle shop had all you could need and the lodges are probably the best I have seen, Had about 50 carp ranging from 3 to about 8/9 lbs got trashed off a couple of times as well by the lakes bigger inhabitants but what please me most was a couple of Tench and and a couple of Bream that were over 5 lb each only down side was there were a lot of day ticket anglers and matches on the week we were ther but that should sort its self out when the new lakes have settled down , Early morning shot from our Lodge a fellow angler with a Carp about 10 lbs I would think. one of the Bream one of the Tench another Tench one of a lot of Carp I had another early morning shot and another one of the new lakes as yet minus vegetation and another and one we did earlier. and lastly the neighbors a family of Swallows that flew the nest along side the front door while we were there.
