Game 1 of the 2014 State of Origin series will take place on Wednesday, May 28 in Brisbane, Game 2 will take place in Sydney on Wednesday, June 18 with the third game going back to Brisbane on Wednesday, July 9. See your tv guides for local times and clear the tv tops of any ornaments 'cos the tackles will be huge and rattle the tv's... Queensland for 9 straight wins. Cheers, Bobj.

Hi Bob, Just watched the match hi-lights on the NRL website. Looks like it was a brilliant game, bet the beers tasted good watching it live - really jealous. I hope there is a pub in Ayia Napa that is showing the second game live, cos I will be there for it.

An issue came up re Game 1; A Blues player did an illegal tackle on a Maroons player and was put on report. The cartwheel tackle was downgraded by the NRL, meaning the reported player is eligible to play in Game 2. An ex Blues player was sidelined for 4 games in a club game for a less severe cartwheel tackle 3 weeks ago. The Maroons are obviously 'spitting the dummy' over the incident.
I reckon Game 2 will be a fiery event, indeed.
Cheers, Bobj.

Too true Bob, and Benny Elias has further stoked the fire claiming the Queenslanders are the biggest whingers in Australian sport after game 1. I hope the Maroons can get over the line in game 2 and square it up, but with Cronk injured (is he definitely out?) and the retirements of Petro Civoniceva last year and the peerless Darren Lockyer the year before they need Smith, Inglis and Slat's to have inspirational performances.

Alas, Cronkie broke his left arm and will be out for 8 weeks. Benny was a good player in his day...He is just stirring.
I just hope that it is a good and fast game, in the traditions of true State Of Origin.
Pity the refs are all NSW blokes...as usual.
Cheers, Bobj.

Just found the full match on Youtube - uploaded by TTRugby Vidz. Brilliant, Saturday night sorted for free. Was gonna pay the additional box office fee to watch Froch v Groves but not now.
