Hi
I'm getting into fly fishing and live east of Leeds. I've searched high and low for fisheries that don't require an hour journey but struggling. I've found the following and wondered if people could let me know what they think?
Marston Wyse lakes ponds in wetherby thybergh Reservoir in Rotherham Walton Hall near wetherby
I've got all the gear and some idea, not been out yet but been casting at the local park for practice, didn't catch much.
Thanks

Marston Wyse aka Maran Lakes has a number of small lakes suitable for a beginner. Casting is easy and the fishing can vary between very easy to hard work. It is inexpensive at £7 for 4 hours catch and release, £9 for 6 hours. It is very suitable for a beginner. The Tanfield fishery George mentions is excellent but perhaps beyond the distance you want to travel. The fishing will not open there until next month but Maran Lakes are open all year.
