Welcome to the forum Jamie, get yourself along to a pike teaching day before trying for them on dam flask. Not for the novice in my honest opinion.

As Woody says it's not for the novice, I am glad I went with the Leeds PAC the first time I went as it is such a big sheet of water. It is a difficult water to catch from and off putting at times if the rowers are on there. Use a rotten bottom for your lead as there are a lot of rocks in places.

When I have fished down there I have always caught fairly close in, no more than 20yds. It gets deep fairly close in and has a lot of contours, plumb around looking for hollows. I saw it a couple of years ago when the water level was low and have seen them. Its a lovely place to fish, hmm might have to go myself before long. Don't forget to get your ticket before you fish as the bailiffs always come round.
