Hello
I live in Lower Hopton and took up fishing a year or so ago. I've pretty much taught myself and have learnt as I have gone along - with lots oftrial and error I might add. I regularly fish at Upper Hopton (the little pool there near the golfing range) as well as the pond at Lindley and the canal near Hudds.
I've always caught fish but have yet to land a decent carp or pike. Ideally I could do with some ideas, tips and guidance about how to improve my fishing and catch more consistently.
Any suggestions as to where else I might want to fish?
Bit of a general question I know but I have to start somewhere.
Thanks
Bradley

Why not try Ladywood lakes
fish in the margins with meat you should hook into carp 3-5lb or use pellet waggler and even try method feeder at 10 meters.

Get on the Calder, miles and miles to explore and your in a pretty good starting location in mirfield.
It will also help you hone your skills on a natural water.

welcome to the site
if you want to catch pike then get your self on one of the pike teaching days once the weather turns (info in the predator section) as despite their looks pike are very fragile and all those treble hooks flying about can do as much harm to you as the fish!

Welcome to the forum Bradley, as binned has already said wait until the weather cools down and come on one of the teaching days to learn about pike fishing it will help you no end. For larger carp pattersons ponds are worth a go, some nice lumps in it
