Hi, I will be fishing the large lake at rookley park in the isle of wight. Has anyone got any tips or info for me please. Cheers

Sorry just seen this. We went there last year just as the specimen lake closed for the Carp to spawn. So I went on to the lower lake, which fished well, mainly for silvers with the odd small Carp thrown in for good measure, whilst the upper lake, which holds some cracking Carp, (I saw fish well into 30lb+ mark), was the scene of total carnage. Rushes and lilies being ripped up all around the lake, the Carp actually being pushed up bodily out of the water in their efforts to spawn. Fantastic sight! The best thing you could do is ring the tackle shop on the lake, and get the latest info. But it's certain the place is well up on the list for a return visit for Her Indoors and I. BOF  |
