Hello All, I am 59 years old and live in Carcroft,Doncaster. Over the years I have fished a little bit 'on and off ',a few trips to the Don & Iddle for Roach and occasionally Pike. In the past my main hobby was always dog training for Working Trials but now I intend to spend more time fishing. My initial objective is to try and catch a few Chub on the float and later hopefully a Barbel. I am hoping to get started next week,Just waiting for delivery of a Leeds centrepin which I got on Ebay for £19.00 quid, including postage. Already had a couple of scouting sessions along the Dearne around Harlington/Bolton stretch and seen a few fish. What a great little river. All I have to do now is try and catch one . I will let you all know how I get on. My favorite method is long trotting, but will have to make a few posts in other sections, enqiring about suitable setups and tactics etc. Any help will be appreciated. Cheers for now Roders.....

Welcome to the site Mambrino. I'll be interested to see how you get on with the chub and barbel from the Dearne, this is my main target this season. All the best for your ventures. Nick
