Welcome to the site Bob. There are no daft questions mate, we all had to start somewhere and you'll find everybody on here very helpful. At the end of the day we're all still learning anyway, however long we've been fishing

alright bobd, gotta agree with doug(tyke 66)the day you stop learning is the day you sack it. every water has its different moods,so when you fish them at different- -times of day and times of year you will, come away hopefully with a bit more knowledge on that water. i would suggest that if you want to try your hand at pike fishing, you go along to one of the P.A.C teach in days. i attended one of these run by mark green,as did a fair few other lads on this site who came through the ranks. all the info you can learn, free of charge. you can learn a lot from books/you tube etc, but you can,t beat hands on experience. ive met and fished with some cracking lads through this site,so welcome to the site, fire away with the questions-after all if you dont ask-you wont know! enjoy the site and your fishing...walta

Thanks guys I understand about you never stop learning what I'm trying to do is learn the basics so I can work from there different rigs styles etc I'm interested in the PAC teaching days how do I find out more about this when there held etc I tried pike fishing but have yet to land a pike couple of perch was my best effort so far I also read as much as I can but sometimes I get bamboozled by everything so am trying 1 new tactic every trip so not to over complicate things is this a good idea ? Last trip was bread could never get it to stay on the hook but I made a DIY punch out of a old 5 ml syringe magic mushroom style hook bait worked a treat read about it in angling times got me a nice double figure carp well happy

get in ther bobd, nice double. if your interested in a P.A.C pike teach in day, keep your eyes out on the predator section. i think the first teach in is planned for 8th october at fairburn ings nature reserve.the teach in will cover everything from tackle set up,rigs, baits, bite indication, unhooking and fish handling.Mark Green will put a post up nearer the time confirming a date. these can be prone to change, due to weather conditions.before to day the lake was frozen over, another time the banks were completely flooded out.so like i said, just keep your eye on the forum. these days are well supported, with plenty of lads on hand to offer plenty info and advice.a fair few lads there, myself included, have all come through the ranks as a direct result, of going along to a teach in day.you dont have to have any gear, you can just go along to see what its all about, have a brew and enjoy a bit of banter.
