Hello all , I m new to this so please be gentle. Though I have fished in the past , some course fishing and deep sea sport fishing in Kenya .
I live in Dewsbury on a relatively new estate just off Thornhill Road , the river Calder is basically at the bottom of my garden . Can anyone please tell me who had the fishing rights to this stretch of river , from the bridge on Thornhill road back to the weir , as I would like to fish there and not wanting to step on anyone's toes ?
Many thanks

Hey Tunnu! I am sure plenty of the lads will be able advise you. I think carpfanatic and a few others fish around that area and will be able to give you the lowdown
All the best
Matt

Ayup pal, I think it's mirfield ac but it depends on which bank.... I'd have a wander down and see if there's any signs up and if not it'll probably be free Fished that length myself but I have Wakey and mirfield books so never looked!! Nice fishing round there

That stretch belongs to Earlsheaton Charity Anglers, I am not sure who is selling the books this year, I should be seeing the guy who runs this water on Sunday and will find out.

That's great and I hope you get to see this chap . All I'm looking to do is just a bit of fishing for relaxation as I suffer from a spinal condition and find it hard to do day to day stuff . So to carry a rod and reel , bait box from the back of my house to the river ( about 30meters) would be ok .

Tunnu, you have a PM.
There will be 4 of us on your side of the river from 8pm this evening checking the pegs including the lad with the books, wander over if you can.
