Hi all, We sailed at 07:00 with 10 aboard it was a fine sunny morning with a fresh westerly breeze, the lads wanted to stop for mackerel for bait so we stopped about a mile off the harbour they were a bit slow coming aboard at first but after 30 mins we had a couple of boxes, it was then off to try a few wrecks with the 1st drift producing 3 8 pound codling we tried a few more with each producing fish cod and pollock up to 10 pounds but no ling, the wind freshened up making the boat drift a bit too fast 1.3-1.5 knots so we steamed in to try the hard ground we had good sport and decent fish (some lost) till about 3 pm then it went very quiet we called it a day at 5pm with only a couple of whiting a few blegs and the ubiquitous mackerel caught between 3-5 pm we were tied up for 6 and all went home happy.
