well gonna give wreck fishing a try never done this before,found a boat that will hire me the rod and reel but says i will need to get my own end gear,can anyone tell me what i should be buying as in what weights, lures and baits really don't have a clue thanx all help much appreciated ;D

why not get a bunch of lads to go with yu and go to brid they provied every thing you want then if yu like it then go and buy the tackle pal

afternoon mark, andrew is right,cos if you dont know how the skipper is going play,then you will spend lots on unwanted bits, north sea wrecking is different from down here.you used to use a lot of pirks ,with either a couple of muppets or rubber eels above ,bearing in mind the shortage of big cod and ling,this has probably changed. does anyone anchor the wrecks up round scarboro' or whitby? or is all still done on the drift? jsyman

Don't forget sea sick tablets, because once your out on the boat they won't bring you back if your ill ;D

cheers for the info lads, yes finny think i'll be buying a box or 2 of tablets, i've just had an email back of a boat that goes out of whitby called growler he will supply me with all the rods and tackle i need just have to take a couple of boxes of squid with me so i'll be booking up and giving it a try Thanx all

take some mates as well pal yu wil enjoy it more by the way i went sea fishing some years ago the very first time and i can tell you i had a breakfast before spent 1 hour fishing and 7 hours being sick caught 6 fish all day the captain never turned back as well so be warned it does not bother me now

I was on a 10 hour trip many years ago and 2 lads where sick after about 1/2 hour, they where in a right state when we got back. I've never been sea sick but I still take a couple of tablets. ;D

also as a back up,you can get wrist bands with a little bit on that allegedly work,wife swears by them, she still throws up, but claims its cos she has to look at me while on the boat.
