fished hornsea last night (9/11) large swell and lots of sea weed weed was not a problem when we casted over 100yds and kept rods high up in tripods caught flatties on mackerel sraight away then took decent sized whitting (biggest aprox 2lbs)on large black lug 1.5hours before high plenty of bites and missed fish my mate caught a small pollock (yes pollock) black lug targeted the large whitting but no codling yet will be well worth a try in a few weeks

The poor fish don't know what to do, it was unheard of catching mackerel this time of year. Must be global warming, I'm waiting for the cod to arrive if they do. ;D ;D

fished mappleton yesterday with two mates, started catching whiting almost from the off, only one was of a takable size though, half an hour before top of tide i had a codling, about 3lb, most of the fish were being caught from about 30-40 yards, we were catching on black lug and squid, the codling was caught on whole squid on a pennel rig from out of the surf, very enjoyable session. ;D ;D
