dont worry about a thing,
nothing of mine matches, some of it is old and quite a bit of my newer stuff came off ebay.
it catches fish and thats all that counts, its what you do with it!
why not come along and fish a couple of the sites just for fun matches?

have a look in the social match section, you have nothing to worry about honestly, some of the members dont have poles for a start, not saying that you should have one,
how about joining a local club that jun their own matches? club matches tend to be less competitive than open matches and attract a wider range of anglers with various skill levels

Thanks I've been a beginner for the last 10 years lol i had a pole once an old browning one that weighed the same as a scaffold pole all i could do with it was make mono nylon doilies with it lol. My rods are firstly my favourite Called moby dick which is 9 years old and cost me £15.00 lol my other rod for river barbel fishing cost me £40.00 and my carp outfit cost me about £90.00 for the lot, it doesn't matter how much it costs it's enjoying being out on the bank with a few mates or just the wonders of nature. Our social Fun matches are in various parts of yorkshire we try and do at least one in each riding north, south, East and west and if we have a space free anyone is welcome to come along to learn what the others do so get in there mate best regards Malc.

I think fishing is all about confidence. It seems your happy with what you got and are comfortable using it, so just go and have fun!

Just pop down to your local tackle shop. They will advise you and will appreciate your support.

Dont woory about the tackle mate. Just turn up and have a good time. You don't need to have a pole.
