All being well next year myself and Tyke66 (aka Doug) are thinking of heading down to fish one of the lakes for a 48hr week in March. I was wondering if any of you guys have taken on the lakes down there, if so which lakes and how did you get on? The complex looks awesome and I'm looking forward to getting down. Any info would be great. Thanks MHMatt

It is exceptionally busy but the lake stocks are well managed and they contain some superb fish. Try and go sunday afternoon or midweek. I broke a couple of pbs on my first visit a couple of years ago (St John's road bank) can't get onto photobucket now, i'll post the tench later

I've fished Hardwick for the Tench, indulging in a couple of trips for the last three years running. The first year it was fine, the second year it had become a bit busier and last year was for me a nightmare. The main problem was that the fish were quite localised; that and the fact that a 'personality' doing a feature for 'improve' had spread his rods between the only two swims where the tench were showing. I recon with a bit of research you should be able to find a carp or tench venue which gives you a much better chance of catching a few good fish without competing with dozens of others. Try checking out the following club/venue websites..and surf the net
Blunham AC Milton Keynes AC Vermulam angling association Feltham piscatorials Cemex Angling Mid kent fisheries Watermead country park (council run) Lea Valley regional parks
Hope this helps
