Just back from Rigmans trip to a lovely spot outside Worcester called Rookery Meadows.
Small, at around 2 to 3 acres, but absolutely delightful, and despite the lack of co-operation from the fish, (this time at least) a place we are almost certainly going to book on again next year.

The idea is you book the whole lake for the week and take 4 pals, but there are many more swims than that, both bivvy swims and stalking pegs.
Looking down toward Andy's swim, just up from the dam.
There are some lovely Carp in the place, many of which we saw cavorting around, but alas they seemed far more interested in spawning again rather than getting their heads down on our baits. But thats a risk you take when booking so far in advance as you need to do if you want a certain week.
There are some delightful Commons that had most of us drooling in anticipation as they swam round in the shallows, sometimes throwing themselves clear of the water. But alas they never seemed to stop for long enough to enable us to get a hook stuck in. So the above 11 1/2lb Mirror, caught on my last night was my best.
Spudgun had at least two more small ones, as did elder brother Andy, but it was a close run thing for them as the fish did not get their heads down in the deeper water by the Dam end right until the last night.
Spudguns swim on the dam wall.
I wish I could have put some of the bigger fish on the bank to show the quality of the fish in there, but it was not to be. Maybe next time!
