Just had a week at Tetford County Cottages in Lincolnshire. A very tidy little complex with a good fishing lake, lots of bites from the smaller stuff but a reasonable head of carp also... Accommodation was a 2 bed terrace cottage, reasonably well equipped and right on the lakeside.. Cafe and shop on site plus wifi to keep in touch with YF The owners Ray and Marie were great hosts trying to help where ever possible and keeping the peg hoggers (dumping tackle and going off) at bay by removing anything left for more than a couple of hours... Nets were permitted for anything under 2lb with a 4hr time limit on so allowed us to have a few knock ups... Fishing in included in the cost and you can fish around the clock. 90% of lake is to residents only so plenty of pegs to go around with no day tickets.. Couple of pubs in easy walking distance, bit quiet through week but lively on a weekend (even danced with a few locals as it was someone birthday bash).....
Also visited another complex in the area which i was really impressed with being Woodlands Fishery Spilsby. A really well managed complex and the owner Eric was a cracking bloke.. Again nets allowed with same time restrictions on the pleasure lakes but not on the match lakes unless in bonefide match.. A real good mixture of lakes and fishing and had a couple of decent days here..
Final place visited was called Toad Hall Fishery NR Spilsby previously a trout fishery changed to be a commercial less than 2 years ago but boasts a good stock specimen carp, bream and tench along with lots of smaller stuff. Wasnt too keen on this place on arrival but it turned to be one of the best days fishing for us (well them not so much me as i came last)..
Plenty of other fisheries in the area area also so gets a recommendation from me for a place to base for a fishing holiday with the option of the occasional trip to the coast if the family come... Just a shame we picked the wettest week this year
