off to Wales this weekend, just wondering if anyone knows of any decent commercials around the merthyr or brecan area. looked on the internet but mostly rivers come up. got hold of one but they never bothered calling back and another you had to hire a baot to fish.
looking at trying the monmouth and brecan canal if i cant find any.
anyone ever fished it ?
thanks in advance

found a decent place filled with bream. Pontsticill reservoir but not the big one the small one. £5 for the day, some nice fish in there. had to put a load of groundbait down but was worth it. after half an hour the fish were biting. only reason i didnt stay all day was brother in law wanted to go for a pint. tickets and bait from merthyr tydfil angling centre maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=pontsticill+reservoir&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1366&bih=677&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x486e307732c6a28b:0x2a0d8b24269acb90,Pontsticill

oh and by the way the best bit to fish i was told and followed is the dam side that is a nightmare to climb over with all your gear slippery dam wall, fallen trees, rocks and a steep slope come to mind.
the other side is nice and flat as i found out going home
