I have a log cabin booked in July at this camp site , does anyone have any information regarding the fishing ? Any advice ? Whats the lake like ? What baits ? ect Thanks Redwinnel  |

hi there had a look at the brochure all it mention is carp upto 14lbs so i just take the basics ie sweetcorn,pellet, hemp, worms, maybe boilies if permitted good luck or luncheon meat..

Thank you for your advice , it looks like its not well known although the owner quotes its well stocked .
I will feed back to you all when i give it ago in july .In the meen time if anyone as fished this please advice on what its like?

Dont forget the good old Warburtons Thick slice! It has been doing very well back home here recently, and if the place is run as a more general fishery then it gives you several options to add to your list, ie Flake, punch, crust, wetted down as a groundbait slop, and of course, with flavour added, used as a paste. Just got back , had a wonderfull week the water is full of silvers i had a thirty pound net in just 3 hours . Carp come a steady flow up to 9lb averageing 3lb in perfect condition as the water is fished only by the residents . I had fish on all meathods you could not fail with carp to paste and meat was the best baits . Will definately be going again , the water was a credit to the owner with strong large wooden platformes .

Just got back from a wonderfull weeks fishing , i fished each day for aprox 4 to 5 hours with most days the lake to myself . I averaged around 80lb of fish each day with 3 to 4 carp each day over 10lb , the average hard fighting carp were around 3 to 4lb , i also had tench and silvers all in good condition . Booked again for september !!!
