:)Hello everyone, I've been away from fishing for about 8 years for one reason or another, but decided that it was high time I returned to the bankside again. I am new to the website and have found it to be full of useful information, better than any fishing publication that I have read for venues around Sheffield where I live. Last weekend I went to Barlow coarse fisheries near Chesterfield, where I used to fish before ,and first of all was pleasantly surprised that it is still only a fiver for the day. Zero inflation ! The ponds are fishing well for silver fish, but although there were cruising carp to be seen, none seemed to be interested in feeding, although the weather had turned cold a couple of days previously which may have put them off. I had a lot of roach, rudd skimmers and perch fishing shallow alternating maggot, caster and punched bread on the middle pond.I think i'm going back tomorrow to try the bottom pond. I recommend this venue as it is a well kept place, with some platform pegs, easy parking and last but not least an on-site cafe serving all day breakfasts and sandwiches.Cheers,John.
