Has anyone fished Sapphire lakes down in Newark? Looks a decent place. Thinking of going down with another lad off here for a 48hr Carp session. Any opinions and advice will be greatly appreciated. Also after some info on A1 pits, preferably pit 4

Good little venue, toilet, shower. A bit peggy as you seem to need to been in the two good pegs to score.

Had a few mixed opinions Martin and i've been a little put off the place, when A1 pits are another 5 minutes down the road and will only cost me 20 quid for the full 48hrs ........... Anyone have any info on A1 pits then? We are looking for a good chance of getting fish to high doubles and maybe a 20. A1 pit 4 sounds appealing as it's not too big, has a good head of fish from what i gather, they're not rock hard to catch plus there's back up of good Bream and Tench. Any info will be appreciated

a very good friend of mine has fished sapphire quite a few times (all overnighters) and i think he's only ever managed 1 fish out of it! he says its a lovely lake and very tranquil but its a hard water so if your hoping for a bend in the rod carpfanatic in 48 hours mate i'd suggest somewhere else!! i personally have never fished the place so i'm only going off word of mouth here
