Hi, not been fishing much in the past few years but just dug all my gear out for hols in Wales soon. Really want to get back into it but costs of fuel, parking and bait all take their toll. I drive a long wheelbase Land Rover with full size roof rack. not fast but plenty of room for 4 + gear! I would like to try night fishing but being a woman I don't really fancy sitting on a beach on my own till the early hours. Anyone near Leeds or on the way to the East coast willing to share costs please get in touch.

Thanks Che, I must admit joining a club was my first thought. I looked at Whitby but they seem to only fish matches. I'm not good enough to be a match fisherman and I certainly can't go twice a week, (although I'd love to ). I might send an e.mail though as the only alternative is one up near Hartlepool and they seem to be mostly boat fishing.

No need, just join the forum and ask the same question, most local-ish sea anglers use that forum and I`m sue you will get positive results! Its not just the folk who live on the coast but from all over the region, there is also local sea fishing clubs (I`m sure there is a Bradford SAC) that will be able to help, I strongly suggest that you aim towards specialist forums for sea fishing! A Lady with a LWB landy, I`m sure they`ll be queuing right up, you`ll half a dozen in there with all their gear.................you`re laughing!

I've found a club I'd like to join. Reckitts near Hull. I like the coast down there and they don't seem to mind if your experience level is a little low. I haven't done anything about sharing transport yet as we are going away in a fortnight so I will look into it when I get back. Going to try some shore fishing in Wales first. Last time we went I only took spinning gear and wished I'd taken more so this time I'm taking the lot! Him indoors has been warned! Good job we have a Landy, wouldn't get it in anything else, lol. Thanks for the advice though i'll try it when I get back. Cheers.
