hi, the lake i want to fish matches on has alot of f1 carp and if you want to stand a good chance you have got to target them, does anyone have any match fishing tips on how to catch them consistent through a match. e.g what bait, or tactics work best for them. thanks

forgot to add,
start with little feed and if the fish are there and if they're feeding you might need to step up the rate of feeding

They may also take double maggot as I have caught a few nice Carp on maggot. But if there are Roach and Rudd in the lake then you could get pestered by them at first but as the match progresses the Carp should bully them out of the way to get your bait.

start with feeding micro pellet a pinch in a pole pot have a soft 4mm expander set at dead depth on the pole line 11to 13metres if comfortable with and use as light a float as you can get away with preferably with wire stem 4-10s 4-12s float and shot the tip down to the very tip i use grease to keep the last millimetre showing get it right or them f1s will have you a frustrating day the more you experiment may result in hittable bites but never ignore maggots as a change bait on the hook cheers

the baits i use for f1's are:
pellet - feed micro pellets and use a 6 ml pellet on the hook - 16 hook maggot - feed micro pellets and afew maggots and double maggot on the hook - 18 hook corn - same as maggot but replace maggot with corn. - 16 hook meat. - same as corn and maggot but use small bits of meat. - 16 hook
when fishing for f1's they can change depths they feed at throughout the session so if bites dry up try shallowing up and feed less but more often. also use a little sensitive float because the bites can be finicky.
hope this helps mate.
good luck in the matches.
