Is the pilot it? If not & it wont stay lit, could possibly be the thermocouple.

I can get the pilot to lite but when you put it to full flame it just goes out , I have been told by one of the lads at work that it will be the thermocouple so I am going to pick one up from the local merchants ;D, If I put it in myself, will it be ok

Cheers for that DaveMac, I went down to the merchants and got a new thermocouple for £5.99, I then spent 2 hours taking the whole boiler apart , the hardest part was getting the thermocouple retaining nut off as it was recessed so I had to take more parts off to get access , I then put the new thermocouple in place and all the bits put back in the right order. Within seconds of being finished Spunky walked in the door and asked what I was doing, when I told her she came running up the stairs with a scared look on her face maybe we should get somebody to have a look at it before you try it.....women , its fired up first time with loads of praise for me I am now available for servicing of all combi boilers ;D ;D

You are talking saving your lives mate, don't take chances. dave
