Setting up a tropical fish tank.

I have been given a tropical fish tank, it is 39 inches long, 18 inches high and 12 inch wide. Can any one recommend what pump, filter and heater to get. Plus how many fish can a tank that size hold.

Any advice appreciated.

it will hold 36 gallons of water , they say you should have only 36 inch of fish , so if you have a small neon you will be able to have two per inch and so on ,
you will need a filter to cope with 36 gallons /163 litres here
