Gents (and Ladies)
I have just read a report in the Grass Roots (local sports) section of the Sheffield Star, the evil scumbags are out and about.
Apparently two anglers from the Hogshead AC called in at a café on the A1 for a quick cuppa (less than 15mins) and the thieves smashed a window and stole 2 holdalls full of kit.
This has happened outside the Reindeer pub near Lindholme Lakes as well over the last couple of years.
It seems the low lifes are learning and targeting areas where anglers (and no doubt) truck drivers leave their vehicles.
This is a timely kick-in-the-pants as the daylight recedes from both ends, to watch where we leave our kit and to change our routines. Your neighbours know you fish, but you do not know who else is out there in the dark watching you leaving your stuff outside your garage or home.

www.facebook.com/groups/472988433180972/This Facebook group has been set up to report stolen tackle incidents by Rob Wrootrob Walters who has lodges at Lindholme. Best tips from the page to prevent theft from cars or vans I think have been, 1. Fit some small motion detector alarms in your vehicle. I've bought a couple for about a fiver each from ebay. Useful for when you're tackle is left in a vehicle whilst you're in the cafe. 2. Wind some bungee luggage elastics around the straps and handle of your holdhall especially at the end near the front of the vehicle because the thieves usually pull holdhalls out from the rear. Sure to slow them down. Same advice for when the holdhalls are stored in sheds and garages. You're right though Les, they are utter scumbags. But my thoughts are and always have been the same- people are buying all the stuff that's being stolen. The second hand tackle market is buoyant. I only buy second hand from people I know. Rich

As every year, as the Xmas season gets closer, the nights getting longer, the thieves are more and more active. Easier to sell on their ill gotten gains and chance of less questions being asked.
