Fancied a go on the drain, so went at 6am, just maggots on the hook. Had about 30 small Roach to 6oz or so in just a few hours. Don't think it helped that had two small Jack Pike of about 5lb sat literally at my feet trying to pinch fish.

I suggest that you do what I did in that situation and make the most of it lol...pop a spinner on and catch them as well, I had one pestering me on same stretch years ago and caught it so I could get on with fishing for roach, it was an added bonus 😁

I spoke to another Angler fishing it few days ago, said fishing well that stretch and that a nice Tench had come out few days ago. I could also see some big silver Bream scales on the bank too (hopefully put back and not killed)!!

Nice to hear a few different species are still up that way, the two biggest surprises I've had up there was a 3lb perch on a lure while targeting pike and I tried a night session to see if I could get any bream out and I caught a ghost carp around 5lb...obviously released at some point by someone.
