If anyone is looking for a bacon sarnie before match there is a sandwich shop in Altofts on the main road to Birkwood. Just look for the church and its opposite on corner of Foxholes Road. If coming from Stanley end go past Birkwood on left and its half mile on left hand side. Opens from 8 on saturdays.

yep , the portaloo has that typical jeyes fluid and human faeces and last nights curry aroma , take a peg for your nose if you intend to use it !! I'm certainly ok to share making up the extra if everyone is in agreement. Only ever fished main lake (badly) although I am only 15 mins away. will ask around locally and see if I can glean any info but the match boys are fairly tight lipped !! Rich , didn't Sue Nelmes' fella used to be a regular there ??

I was taking to that gentleman who won the Wednesday match in the tackle last Friday and he said he was on the fish from the the all in ended up with over 40 carp for just short of a ton .He is a very good angler who fishes the matches at birkwood on a regular basis but who knows if the fish will be in those pegs on Saturday but the peg he was on has won the last two matches.
