Thats 2 this season already isnt it? Guess thats what you get when idiots get to run our football clubs. How did Cellini ever pass the Football League fit and proper persons tests? Wonder if Neil Redfearn would accept the permanent role if its offered? Thatd be a carreer shortener!

He never has passed the fit and proper test - it was deferred until his tax case was appealed in Italy. However I hear that judge has now stepped back due to a conflict of interest; so where that leaves us I don't know :-(
I think I was part of a minority of fans that did not want any of Cellino's money - and his crooked ways.

Just think of the compensation each of the managers will get though.

I,m like suggsy ,ive supported leeds for a very long time--all the highs and the many lows of late--- I think leeds at the moment ,are like lots of other clubs ( Cardiff, hull, Fulham, Watford) all with foreign owners,do these people really know how to run an English league club-- but in leed,s case --cellino was the only one prepared to put money into the club--so love him or hate him--I,m afraid we are stuck with him for the time being.
Enjoy the ride guys--it,s going to be bumpy.
Redders I hope has more sense than to take the job full time, otherwise he could be picking up his P45 soon-- The jobs such a hot potato ,no one wants it at the moment !!! M. O .T

Leeds are a 'has been team' followed by people who think they deserve better. You still sing 'We are the champions, champions of Europe'. Strange that, as you never were and probably never will be. You moaned about Bates, but at least he kept you solvent (there's a nice change) and now you're moaning about someone who has been prepared to buy the club! If Leeds is such a wonderful investment, why aren't the money men queuing up to lend you cash? Get used to second tier football (if you can avoid the drop) and be thankful that at least you have a half-decent rugby team to watch. (Lights blue touch paper and stands well back)

do you know why we sing it, the history behind it may be no he didn't keep us solvent at all, he bankrupt the club and fixed the deal to buy it back with the two major creditors (which he owned), he raped the club for every penny he could get without any investment, i'm not talking spending millions , but even 500k was beyond him. no one would deal with bates, hence why we got some idiots for the middle east who did not have a clue , or and did not see the high debts bates left behind which they could not service hence losing a £1 mil a month. we have no problem playing 2nd tier football and TBH some of it is better than the prem. going back to the thread i agree with the sacking, has anyone seen any improvement since he has taken over, nothing for me, his team sit back too much, ok when you have the defense of Chelsea, but not ours. and at least he has the balls to say sorry and say he picked the wrong man. i'm still not convinced a coach is the way to go, i would prefer a manager with coaches along side him, but that is not our choice.

Leeds United had a great history In the top tier of English football no one can deny that In the Revie era they were a great team. There are teams currently In top tier who cannot hold a candle to Leeds past record and these teams although playing In the top tier are making up the numbers there Is a big gulf between the top sides and the also rans both In playing ability and financial wealth. Football has sadly gone the way of a lot of things these days and money Is the biggest influence on the on field performance of all clubs In this country and abroad. The only way Leeds are going to rekindle the glory days Is to be bought by a mega rich owner thats the way It Is so unless there is another abramovitch or similar out there willing to invest Leeds will struggle to move forward.

i'm not saying we should be back up there or rekindle the glory days (as it won't happen in my life time anyway), we are where we are for a reason, we are no longer good enough and have not being for a long time , at the min we can barely hold on to a championship slot, the one good thing is , it is very early in the season and loads of time and games to steady the ship , middle of the table will be fine , and i think we do have the squad to do that.

I agree with Punchcrumb football is losing all its values. It seems that a big wallet is the way forward and a bunch of overpaid primadonnas are a necessity. What happened to team and town loyalty? the Fans still have it but the players and management want an easy life and a big wage. It makes you wonder how they would get on if they had a weekday job and had to train in the evenings, all for a few quid a week - no sponsorship, no freebies or superstar status. Even the managers are in tears if they have to play a midweek match as well as the weekend match!!!

I'll nail my flag to the mast for anyone who doesn't already know: I'm a Blackburn fan. Why? Because I was born there. Who does my son support? Leeds, because he was born here and I encouraged him to follow his home-town team. So he's witnessed the fall from grace but stuck with them. I have no illusions about my team as we're a small-town club who are never going to be able to challenge the likes of the top six anymore. We too have a proud history at the end of the nineteenth century and of course the twentieth century, courtesy of a local Abramovich in the shape of Jack Walker. Buying the premiership as some would say, but how many have thrown money at it and fail? As an outsider, I see and hear too many Leeds fans going on about how great they were in the Revie era (but actually didn't win that much) but need to move on. You are where you are because of a variety of reasons. However and this is where I say to AJK: never say never. Leeds has the potential to be a top six club because of the lack of premiership football on this side of the Pennines but more importantly because the club is in a major city with a huge fan base, that most of the Premiership clubs are jealous of. Unfortunately, you have a knack of getting bad press wherever you go and that includes following England. The supporters are still viewed as having links with far right groups and personally I feel this is why there has been a lack of investment over a long period from billionaires abroad. If I was one of the latter, Leeds would be top of the list as a club to develop. Not only would promotion generate the buzz and excitement that comes with success, but the impetus this would bring would attract players of the calibre required to sustain it. Until then, you'll have to put up with what you've got. The current owner and your previous ones are/were in it for the money; the chance of a big sale to an outsider. Hopefully, this will happen sooner rather than later as I for one want to see similar scenes as those when Beckford scored at Old Toilet before I'm pushing up the daisies.

It's not just the revie era - my formative years were watching strachan and co lifting the league title and edging out Man U.
Leeds fans no doubt have a reputation, but I think this has been put to bed in recent years - with players like Radebe and yeboah being terrace favourites. The Chelsea headhunters did not exactly put off the Russian; so I'm not sure that's where the problem lays.
Nobody has a divine right to top flight football, however I'd say it's not an impossible dream when you see some of the tin pot teams that manage to hang on to premier league life.

What about Mr Moyes? - I think he is still free. He was a good manager and fool to leave Everton ( money, money money ) and got stitched up at Manchester before he hit the skids.
